Karratha Primary School (KPS) is a mainstream school based on an 'Inclusive School' model and has an endorsed education support program for students with additional needs. Our education support program is fluid and dynamic, specialising in education for students with substantial additional educational need requiring substantial support and adjustments beyond quality differentiated teaching.
Where a student demonstrates an exceptionally high educational need and meets the criteria, placement in the Karratha Primary School Education Support program may be permitted if it is agreed by the parent and the KPS Education Support Program Enrolment Panel. All enrolment applications are assessed according to Department of Education enrolment procedures. Access to the education support program is discussed with parents along with other options that are available within the Department of Education. An application for enrolment may be declined if a student is not eligible for education support and lives out of the local intake area for Karratha Primary School.
